Interest in non-point source pollution of water resources is becoming more prevalent as point source pollution issues are somewhat adequately addressed. Sediments, nutrients, pesticides, and microbial pathogens from non-point sources continue to threaten quality of our water resources and environmental sustainability. This presentation will highlight results of few water quality monitoring and modeling studies - effects of agricultural best management practices on the fate and transport of nutrients, pesticides and microbial pathogens in surface and subsurface water. Few new initiatives on global water resources perspectives- both in terms of water resources management and water quality improvements will also be discussed.
